American on a mission arrives in Johor
American Polly Letofsky who is on a five-year walk around the world to raise the Johor Baru Breast Cancer Support Group after she was sent off at the other end of the bridge by the Singapore Lions Club members at about 11a.m.
Letofsky of Vail, Colorado will walk four to 10 hours a day covering some 24,000km to 26,000km of her Global Walk for Breast Cancer which will end sometime in June 2004.

About 100 Lions members and the public joined Letofsky in her 1.5km walk to the Istana Gardens ground before stopping at the Eden Garden hotel for several hours.
“I will be visiting hospitals and women’s clubs along the way to raise awareness on breast cancer which is still a tender subject here,” she said to reporters at the Causeway.
She said this was her first visit to Malaysia and the support from the Lions Club and Breast Cancer Support Group has been overwhelming.
Letofsky will be flagged off in a simple ceremony at the Istana Gardens on August 14 at 9:30a.m.
