Global Walker for breast cancer arrives in
Hunter
She has just landed in Rutherford at the home
of local breast cancer sufferer Emma Argent and her husband Charlie.
Charlie, through his Rutherford Lions Club president capacity, actually organized the stay after hearing Polly on the radio.
"When I heard about Polly I just knew we
had to catch up with her and I now feel she was destined to come into our
lives."

Campaigner stretches out for
cancer research
Polly Letofsky has proved her boots are made for walking. The
38-year-old globetrotter is pushing a revamped baby pram around the world to
raise money for breast cancer. She walked into Newcastle at the weekend
and stopped for a much-needed drink at Queens Wharf Brewery.
Ms. Letofsky, a former endurance athlete, walks 25km a day six days a week. If her form keeps up she will be back home in June 2004.

Lions clubs on the coast are supporting her walk. "It was like an
adoption," she said. "It's not a formal sponsorship but
the Lions clubs have adopted me and pass me on from one club to the next,
providing friendship, food and a place to stay."
